1. No accounts, no personal information

You can read and listen without signing up. We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, passwords, or payment information. We do not build advertising profiles and we do not sell or rent data.

2. Your anonymous device identifier

To remember the things that make the site useful to you — your Library, saved and finished stories, reading and listening progress, likes, and author follows — the site generates a random identifier (a token) and stores it on your own device. It is not linked to your real-world identity. Clearing your browser storage erases it and resets your Library. You are never required to provide anything to obtain it.

3. Usage and engagement data

So we can improve the site and rank stories, we record anonymous usage tied to that device token: story opens, how far you scroll, time on the page, whether you used the audiobook or ambient audio and for how long, suggested-story clicks, and your likes and follows. We store these as daily totals per story (we do not keep a minute-by-minute log). This data is not tied to your identity, is not used for advertising, and is not shared with third-party ad networks.

4. Cookies and local storage

We use a minimal set of browser storage, all functional (no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies):

• Age-confirmation cookie — remembers that you confirmed you are 18+ so we don’t ask every visit.
• Reading preferences — your theme (light/sepia/dark) and font size, stored locally.
• Your device token — stored locally as described above.
• Offline downloads — if you save a story for offline use, its text, audio, and cover are cached on your device so they work without a connection. These never leave your device.

5. Syncing across your devices (optional)

If you choose to link a second device or save a recovery phrase, the site uses a short random pairing code or word-phrase to connect your Library across devices. This still involves no name or email — it is an anonymous key only you hold. Offline downloads are kept per device and are not synced.

6. Service providers and third parties

We rely on infrastructure providers (such as web hosting and content delivery) to operate the site. The fiction, art, and narration are produced with third-party AI tools as part of our publishing process; your browsing data is not shared with those tools during normal use of the site. If you click an affiliate or external link, the destination site’s own privacy policy governs what it collects.

7. Children

The site is for adults (18+) only. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has used the site, contact us and we will address it.

8. Data retention and security

Anonymous engagement data is retained as long as it is useful for operating and improving the site. We take reasonable measures to protect the limited data we hold, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

9. Your choices and rights

Because we hold no personal identifiers, the simplest control is in your hands: clearing your browser storage (or your device token) removes your local data and disconnects your activity from the anonymous token.
